Jdg 16:20 Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
In three occasions ,Delilah enticed Samson to reveal to her the secrets of his strength .He opted to use lies .Delilah went on to test whether the information given was true but Samson used to break off the bowstrings, the new ropes and even pulled out the web of the loom done on his head. Unfortunately, there came a time that shaving was done and Philistines came and he thought,” I will go out just as before, ” only to realise that, that was not possible for the Lord had departed .
Experiences are good ,but won’t solve all new challenges. Most problems keep on metamorphosing and become more complex in relation to the previous “look a like”. Solutions to such , requires an improvement from the previous. Looking at a problem today and imagining it is the same problem as was solved in the past, ignores the current context. And if trying to apply the same formula from the past without noting that, there’s a risk, you’ll fail.
Of course, a solution for today might well be a variation of and informed by a solution from the past .But care should be given lest the evolved attributes brings the fall.
If you want to solve a problem today, look out for the contextual factors and make sure you have adapted your solution from the past to handle them. (Phil Jones) We must aspire to change in order to be in tandem with the changing times.
