Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
It is true that the Lord is able to protect us from all evil and calamity and to preserve our love relationship with him. However, we should not be ignorant over the works of the enemy. Our God is merciful and will constantly guide us on how to remain secure in him in a world full of an anticipated storm.
One way to ensure that we are thoroughly protected is by putting on the whole armor of God. Paul describes the five protective components of defensive armor and only one offensive. We are supposed to put on the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation. In addition, we are supposed to armed with the sword of the spirit which is the word of God ( Eph 6:14-17).
The armor represent the defense we must take in our spiritual lives. Each piece of armor has a distinct purpose and a means of defense against temptation and evil. When we understand the severity of the battle , then we will always have our armor on and we will not expose ourselves. This spiritual cover is a must have for every Christian!
