Acts 3:5-6
So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Today’s life is characterized by breakneck expeditions that mostly demand we mind our own business and in any task meet the minimum requirements . However we should always strive to push ourselves higher and exceed expectations.
The lame man was expecting Peter and John to give him hand-out and help him see another day. This was his daily routine and it seems he relied on well-wishers to sort him temporarily . There was a turn of events as a culmination of the most important thing in his life happened. The man was sorted permanently. His occupation of begging was brought to an abrupt end.
Do we have what Peter and John had that will bring a total shift in people’s lives .? We should be uncomfortable in just doing the norm. There is a need of a hunger to do more and bring transformation in our working place, ministry, family and our areas of influence.
Exceeding expectations is not always easy, but it is worth it. By going above and beyond, you set yourself apart, earn respect, open up new opportunities, boost your confidence, and create a positive cycle of success. So next time you are faced with a task or challenge, aim high and exceed expectations! (Conrad Montesi)
