Num 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Caleb and the other spies returned from surveying the promised land. Ten out of twelve brought a negative report, but Joshua and Caleb brought a positive one. In the above text, Caleb shows courage by saying a quicker action should be taken in going out and posses the land.
Imagine standing before a crowd and loudly voicing an unpopular opinion! Caleb was willing to take the unpopular in order to accomplish what God had commanded. Brethren,in order to be effective when we go against popular opinion, we must:- 1. Have facts -Caleb had seen the land himself. 2. Have the right attitude – Caleb trusted God’s promise to give Israel the land. 3. State clearly what you believe – Caleb said “we are well able to overcome it”
I’m very persuaded that there is still some more “land” to conquer. Be it in family set up, business world, religious circle or even in our careers. Just dare to be courageous and take that first step. Like Caleb, we should have the right facts, attitude and clearly state what we believe. We should not emulate the bigger group that was negative, but positively learn from Caleb. This is because action requires courage in any endeavor.
