Pr 31:25-29 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
These are some among the many traits of a virtuous woman as described by King Lemuel’s mother. The beauty of a woman is not on the outside only, but in the inside. A woman of strength and dignity is a gem to behold. She is invested with a moral force and dignity which arm her against care and worry; the power of a righteous purpose and strong will reveals itself in her carriage and demeanor. Thus equipped, she shall rejoice in time to come ; (Pulpit Commentary)
A woman who constantly seeks the Lord is a force to reckon with. Delving into an intimate walk with God clothes her with unique strengths that makes her stand out. Her future days will not be in regret but in laughter. She has built inner strength to soar high amidst adversity. She is a pillar in her home where her husband and children find encouragement and solace. This is a wise woman! Many great people attribute their attainment to the women in their lives.
Deborah is an icon in Judges 4. She stood out as a successful judge in Israel. She arose and wrought great exploits in a patriarchal society. Women have a great potential; from nurturing their homes, to building great careers and businesses around the globe. Their impact is strongly felt.
The writer of the proverbs concludes by describing the character of a virtuous woman as the one who plays a pivotal role in shaping the course of a wise person.
Women have a noble task here on earth and hence the need of relying wholly on the power of God to enable them to be strong and do great exploits for the Lord.
