Luk 12:48 “But he who did not know, yet committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
” With great power comes great responsibilities “. This principle is clearly discernable both in nature and in scripture. All people expect those of many talents to use their skills to do the most good, and we are dismayed when such individuals do wrongly or do not try to fulfill their potential ( Ligonier Ministries).
In context, Jesus was explaining the parable of the ” faithful and wise manager . He told them that that when the master returns and finds the faithful servant managing the resources well, he will put him in charge of all his possessions . Faithfulness requires that we manage those things we have been entrusted with wisely and prudently .
It is extremely easy to assume that only the rich people have been entrusted with much . Our heavenly father has given each of us an area of overflow. This could be talents, gifts, wealth, knowledge etc Because much has been given to you, much will be required of you. There are a variety of ways in which you can fulfill that requirement. If you choose to use your talents, wealth, knowledge, time, and the like, kindly do it ( Casey Duhart).
