John 7:37
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Dehydration is a condition that occurs when the body loses too much water and other fluids that it needs in order to work normally. Spiritual dryness describes a feeling of being dry or empty. Many people describe it as a feeling of being far from the presence of God.
On the last day of the feast of Tabernacles, Jesus stood up and gave an extraordinary invitation to the crowd of people: ” If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink “. He promised that he who believes in him, out of his / her heart will flow streams of living water. When we become spiritually dehydrated, the fruit of the spirit will not receive the much needed nutrients hence you risk not bearing fruits.
Drinking from his word on a daily basis and staying close to him through prayer and meditation allows us to remain spiritually hydrated. We need to keep away from spiritual dehydrators as well. This may include but not limited to toxic company, social Media addiction, unforgivenes, bitterness, anger and malice. The key to overcoming spiritual dehydration is to reposition ourselves and come to Jesus and drink.
