Psa 107:27-29 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end. Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
There was a terrible storm at the sea. The ship was tossed up and down and the souls of the seamen melted with fear. There was so much disturbance causing the occupants to ” reel to and fro”. It made them giddy, stagger and they become like drunken men.
The whole ship crew could not take it any more. Their wisdom and experience could not help them; they were at the Wits’ end. In their distress, they cried to the Lord. The Lord graciously heard them and he caused the storm to be still. The surface of the sea became smooth and smiling.
You may be at your wits’ end ; You cannot take it anymore. You are completely puzzled and perplexed, not knowing what to do. Your education, experience, wisdom and connections cannot sort you out. Don’t give up ! It’s time to come boldly to the throne of grace and cry out to Him.
” They cried to the Lord in their trouble, And he brought them out of their distress. He caused the storm to be still ”
