Isaiah 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
It has been a common and popular opinion that the eagle lives and retains his vigour to a great age; and that, beyond the common lot of other birds, he moults in his old age, and renews his feathers, and with them his youth. “Thou shalt renew thy youth like the eagle,” says the psalmist, Ps 103:5 (Adam Clarkes Commentary)
In the season of moulting, the eagle goes into Isolation . It is in seclusion where it experiences a refreshment and renewal. As we continue waiting upon the Lord , our vitality is renewed. At the end, our relationship with our Father will be of a higher quality than before.
He is renewing our strength so that we have the ability of mounting up with wings as eagles. When our strength is renewed, we shall run and not get weary, we shall walk and not faint, we will have a youthful vigour!
