Jas 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
Genuine faith is not an empty claim . It is not a mere acceptance of a creed. To know Christ is to emulate him, to live as he lived, to love as he loved and to give oneself to others as he gave himself to us. *Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Faith and deeds are good buddies and concurrently work together. Faith is the root, good works are the fruits. The body is animated or kept alive by the spirit and when the spirit is withdrawn, it becomes lifeless. So , faith without work is dead also. Genuine faith will always be accompanied by good works.
Faith without deeds is like a body without a spirit. A body without a spirit is a lifeless and hence spiritually dead. Such a body is no better than a corpse. If there are no deeds accompanying our faith, then such faith is not true faith , it is dead faith. Such faith is like love expressed by words but devoid in action.
Jam 2:15-17 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
