Luk 17:15-17,19
[15]And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,
[16]and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
[17]So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
[19]And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
The ten lepers were an outcast of the community according to the Law of Moses. They were forbidden from staying within the city as leprosy was a sign of sin and uncleanliness. If cleansed, they had to present themselves first to the Pharisees to receive a clean bill of health allowing them back to the community, to family and friends. This ostracized group of men were lonely, poor and hungry.
Relief came when they saw Jesus and he healed them. However, the distinction is seen when the Samaritan comes back to give thanks after he was made whole. Many are the times we go to God for help, healing restoration and when the breakthrough comes we quickly forget that we were in problems.
Let’s count our blessings naming them one by one and it will surprise us what the Lord has done. An Attitude of gratitude is a demonstration of our Faith which pleases the Lord. This will bring wholeness in every facet of our lives.
