Genesis 9:24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.
Genesis 9:25 Then he said:
“Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.”
Genesis 9:26 And he said:
“Blessed be the Lord,
The God of Shem,
And may Canaan be his servant.
In the Bible, a mantle was a cloak made of cloth. Taking the mantle of something meant taking responsibility and duties handed over. In simple terms , the mantle is a symbol of authority and position. Leadership mantle can be handed over from one leader to another. With the mantle comes the anointing, power and authority.
In those days Noah became a farmer and he planted a vine garden. And he took the wine of it and was overcome by drink; and he was uncovered in his tent. Ham saw his father unclothed and gave the news to his two brothers outside. Shem and Japheth took a robe and covered their father’s nakedness.When he awoke and realized what had happened, Ham was cursed and Japheth was blessed. Mistakes don’t kill the mantle.
It is true that those carrying the mantle may fall short of your expectations, fail to manage their inadequacies and make some mistakes.These include but not limited to your seniors, those in authority, ministry leaders, parents etc Whether you think they deserve to be there or not does not take away their mantle. We must learn to respect , submit to and honor those wearing the mantle as you wait for your turn to serve.
