“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
True freedom comes when we acknowledge that God’s wisdom far surpasses our own. True independence is found not in self-reliance but in complete dependence on God. While independence in the world’s terms often means “I don’t need anyone else,” spiritual independence means recognizing that, ultimately, we can do nothing of lasting value apart from God.
Self sufficiency and God-sufficiency cannot cohabit. If you trust God with all your heart, you won’t lean on your own understanding. If you don’t lean on your own understanding, you will acknowledge God.If you acknowledge God, He will direct your paths. If God directs your paths, you can trust that direction with all your heart. (Pastor Kevin Kabel – Calvary Heights)
Independence in the Christian life is a paradox—it comes through surrender. When we humble ourselves before God, He lifts us up and empowers us. Our willingness to submit to His will leads to blessings, peace, and purpose beyond what we could accomplish alone. True independence is a life surrendered to God’s plans, trusting that His ways are higher than our own.True independence is not achieved by living for ourselves but by living in complete dependence on God. When we rely on His wisdom, strength, and love, we experience freedom that the world cannot offer.
