Gal 3:28-29 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
During Paul’s time, there was a great distinction between the Jews and the gentiles, rich and the poor, the slaves and their masters men and women etc. ” The Jews despised the gentiles, slaves were crushed under the power of their masters and men looked down on women regarding them as inferior” This distinction quenched any springing up of any true feeling of brotherhood.
But today, Christians enjoy great privileges under the gospel. We are no longer counted as aliens but as the true children of Abraham.God’s promise to Abraham belongs to us. ” Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave them the right to become children of God “( Joh 1:12). Having accepted Jesus Christ and relying on him for justification , we are partakers of all that belongs to our heavenly Father.
God’s love for us has transcended all human barriers. Christ has put all of us at the same level; we are born again in the same way and all have access to our heavenly father. He loves us with the same measure regardless of our birth, rank, colour, complexion and nationality. ” All of us are admitted to the same privileges and endowed with the same hopes of eternal life.
