Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” — Philippians 3:13 (KJV)
Life is a journey filled with successes, failures, joys, and regrets. While the past can shape us, dwelling on it can hinder our progress. The key is to leave behind past mistakes, hurts, and failures while carrying forward the wisdom and lessons they taught us. The Bible repeatedly calls us to move forward with faith, trusting that God is leading us into a greater future. Many people remain stuck in guilt or regret over things they cannot change. However, God calls us to let go of what is behind and press forward.
God’s grace allows us to start anew, unburdened by past failures. Even our experiences—both good and bad—can serve as testimonies to encourage and guide others.
We cannot walk into our future while holding on to the past. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7. And Revelation 21:5 says “Behold, I make all things new.” Let us forget what holds us back, embrace the lessons learned, and walk boldly into God’s future for us.
