Mat 26:45 “Then He came to His disciples and said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Mat 26:46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”
Life often presents moments of weariness, discouragement, and uncertainty. And Jesus was not immune to these situations as a man thus he spoke these words in the Garden of Gethsemane, just before His arrest. Despite His anguish, He chose to move forward in obedience to God’s will. The disciples had fallen asleep at a critical moment. Likewise, many of us become spiritually complacent, unaware of the urgency of God’s call. God is calling us to wake up spiritually, to be alert and ready for His purpose.
Jesus knew that His time had come, and He was prepared to face it with courage. As believers, we must recognize that we are living in crucial times. God has placed each of us in this moment for a reason. Jesus did not shrink back in fear but stepped forward into His divine destiny. In our own struggles, we must rise in faith and trust God’s plan. No matter the challenges we face, we must move forward in faith, knowing God is with us.
No trial can stop the fulfilment of God’s purpose in our lives when we remain steadfast in Him. Jesus’ words “Rise, let us be going” are not just for the disciples but for us today. It is a call to wake up, recognize the urgency of the moment, rise in faith, and move forward despite challenges.
