Ruth 1:16-17 (NKJV)
βBut Ruth said: βEntreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.ββ
Decisions shape destiny. Ruthβs response to Naomi was more than loyalty; it was a choice that aligned her with Godβs plan. Leaving Moab for Bethlehem meant embracing covenant over comfort and faith over familiarity. That step opened doors for divine favor, making her part of the lineage of Christ (Matt 1:5). Favor is not accidental; it follows decisions rooted in trust and obedience.
Abraham made such a decision when he left his homeland, not knowing where he was going (Heb 11:8). Esther also chose to risk her life, saying, βIf I perish, I perishβ (Esth 4:16). These choices attracted Godβs favor because they placed His will above personal safety. When we choose obedience over compromise, we position ourselves for blessings that no man can block.
Ruthβs story reminds us that favor follows faith-filled choices. When we prioritize Godβs purpose over comfort, He responds with open doors and provision (Rev 3:8). Your decisions today can determine your destiny tomorrow. Align them with Godβs will, and His favor will rest on your life.
