Pro 13:11 (KJV) βWealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.β
Lasting success is built on diligence and discipline. Scripture warns that what is gained too easily often fades quickly. Shortcuts and dishonest gain may offer fast results, but they lack the stability to endure. True wealthβwhether material, relational, or spiritualβcomes through patience, effort, and wisdom. Godβs blessings are often revealed in the process of steady building, not instant achievement.
Throughout the Bible, lasting rewards followed hard and wise work. Josephβs foresight in managing Egyptβs resources led to years of plenty (Gen 41:46β49). The Proverbs 31 womanβs household thrived through her industrious habits. Even Paul worked with his own hands to avoid burdening others (Acts 18:3). God honors consistent effort that aligns with His principles, producing fruit that remains.
The danger is craving what is fast instead of what is firm. What comes easy often disappears just as fast, but what is built through perseverance becomes a lasting heritage. Success that endures requires both hard work and smart workβeffort guided by godly wisdom. Do not despise the slow climb; each step of faith and diligence leads to blessings that will stand the test of time.
