Psalm 139:1β4 (NIV) βYou have searched me, Lord, and you know meβ¦ Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.β
Godβs knowledge of us is not observational; it is intimate. He does not learn us over timeβHe knows us fully and forever. He understands the thoughts we cannot explain, the fears we hide, and the prayers we struggle to articulate. There is no version of us unfamiliar to Him. Yet, what makes this truth breathtaking is not that He knows us so deeply, but that He chooses to love us completely.
Human love often depends on discovery. The more flaws revealed, the more affection is tested. But divine love works in reverseβfull knowledge does not diminish Godβs love; it defines it. God loves us at our worst with the same intensity He loves us at our best. His love is not based on performance, progress, or perfection. It is anchored in His nature.
This is our comfort and our courage. We do not need to pretend before God, because He already knows. We do not need to earn His affection, because it has already been given. When shame whispers that we are unworthy, grace answers that we are already loved. The God who knows us the most is the very God who loves us the best.
