Prov. 4:23 — “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” (AMP)
Today’s verse teaches that the heart is more than feelings—it includes thoughts, desires, and decisions. What enters our hearts shapes who we become. Many spiritual struggles start quietly inside before they appear outwardly.
To guard the heart means being watchful, like protecting a valuable gate. We must be careful what we listen to, watch, and allow to influence us. What fills the heart will eventually guide our attitudes, choices, and future.
The Bible says the heart is the source of life’s actions. Like a spring feeding a river, its condition affects our words and direction. A guarded heart leads to a healthy life, a peaceful mind, and choices that honor God.
