Jos 14:10,11 Now then ,just as the lord promised ,he has kept me alive for forty five years since the time he said this to moses ,while Israel moved about in the desert. so here i am today eighty five years old, I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out.
As one grows old ,the body becomes frail ,weak and sodden with health complications. Vigor and strength fades. We are afraid of depth ,height ,distance and special diets becomes the order of the day.
But Caleb paints a contrasting scenario. He was forty years old when they went to spy the promised land. He addressed Joshua and informed him that he was old but strong . He was ready to go for battle and claim his promises.
. Isa 40:29,30. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even the youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
…..This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty ( Zec 4:6)
It is indeed human to feel tired, weary, weak and even get tempted to resign to fate. Let us allow Yahweh to restore our physical and mental energy. Like Caleb, let us go for what is ours wholeheartedly and with new zeal.
