John 11:33-35
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept.(NIV).
Jesus felt sad when his friend Lazarus had died. He loved Lazarus together with his sisters Mary and Martha .He was moved with compassion when he saw Mary and the rest of the Jews with her weeping for their departed loved one . He wept with them, although he would later raise Lazarus from the dead.
In Hebrews 4:15-For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.
Jesus, our high priest, sympathizes with us as we go through life’s turmoils of uncertainty, pain, loss of a loved ones, sicknesses, loss of incomes and jobs. Just as the Jews showed Jesus where they had laid the dead man, let us not be afraid of pouring out our grief to the Lord and show him the loss and troubles we are going through.
He will not only feel the pain with us but will take us through the situation or out of the situation in accordance to the Perfect will of God. He is our faithful and compassionate high priest.
