Persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed ( 2cor 4:9)
In his earthly ministry, Paul went through extremely difficult moments. The above scriptures paints two vivid pictures. The first picture , ” persecuted and not abandoned, “is one of the enemy being cruel and giving him unfair treatment while the divine defender stands nearby. ” He is persecuted but not left alone.
In the second picture, the enemy has overtaken him, struck him and knocked him down but he is able to rise again.
Christian friends, don’t be surprised when you find yourself in such a scenario. The good news is , although you will be persecuted , you will not be left alone. You will be struck down but you will not be destroyed. Our God will always be there for you. You will always arise and shine again.
Mic 7:8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
