Psa 42:5 Why are you downcast ,O my soul ?why so disturbed within me .Put your hope in God,for I will yet praise ,my saviour and my God.
Soliloquy is an artistic device used in literature where one speaks to self seeking for answers that are out of reach. During tough times we tend to linger in;Why me?Why did it happen? Why my family/ business/job?Why did I fail? Why am I going through this?
David was well acquainted with such situations. When his soul was downcast with no apparent help, he spoke to himself ‘Why are you downcast oh my soul?’ But contrary to many,he went past the ‘why’ and commanded his soul to put hope in God, his Saviour and King.
It is possible to go beyond the why,the pain, the darkness, the heartbreaks and all that makes the soul sick and downcast and find a remedy to all these pains.
As you face the challenges, be encouraged for there is hope in our God. Command your heart to put trust in God, The Help of your countenance. Guard your soul from being cast down as you wait on restoration of our God.
