Act 8:32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb silent before its shearer, so He opened not His mouth.
This was the portion of scripture that was being read by the Ethiopian eunach who was an official in charge of all the treasury.
It is a perfect description of resilience during crisis. Philip explained to him the meaning of Isaiah’s prophecy (Isa 53:7-8) on the “suffering servant” who sacrificed his life as an atonement for the sins of mankind. After the crucifiction, Jesus did not remain in the grave; the grave could not hold him!
Resilience is the ability to mentally or emotionally cope with a crisis or to return to pre – crisis status quickly. (Wikipedia). It is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and spring back into shape.
In these turbulent times, people who are resilient are not only able to anticipate and prepare for risks but are also able to absorb the hard knocks and like Jesus, bounce back again. They spot trends and turn them into opportunities ( Emerald works)
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. With God, you can handle every storm and succeed. It’s time to rise up again.
