Da 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
A bill had been passed into law and assented by King Darius that none was to pray to other than the king. This was a scheme against Daniel whose prayer routine was well known by his enemies. His adversaries must have celebrated thinking they had put him in an awkward position that threatened his life. It was a matter of life and death as anyone who would defy the law would be thrown into the den of lions.
At times of great danger, we should not shy to call upon His name. His name is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and they are safe. Daniel stuck to his consistency even when it was not popular to do so.
In and out of season , we should adhere to our prayer life. Challenges should not drift us away from our prayer schedule.
Discipline is vital in our devotion. Sometimes our prayer life will be threatened but we ought to stay put. The God, to whom our petition is unto, is well able to deliver us from the mouths of the hungry lions in our circles.
The seasons should not change our prayer patterns but we should affect the season by our consistency in prayer.
