Gen 8:13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.
Noah entered the ark seven days before the floods. It rained for forty days and forty nights. The waters swelled on the face of the earth until all mountains were covered and all creatures and people died.
Then the waters started receding until the mountain top appeared. Then Noah started the verification exercise of checking whether the ground had dried up. He sent out a raven and then a dove. Both returned to the ark unsuccessfully. He sent out a dove again and it brought back an olive branch . Then he sent out the dove, and it did not return.( Gen 8:6-12)
Then on the first day of the first month, Noah removed a part of the ark’s covering and behold , the face of the ground was dry. And finally on the twenty seventh day of the second month, Noah left the ark with all the animals. Scholars estimate that the lockdown lasted for one year and some days.
This too will come to an end. Whatever situation you are going through is not permanent. The divine power which renewed the face of the earth can renew the face of an afflicted and troubled soul. He can make dry ground to appear even where it seemed to have been lost and forgotten. ( Mathew Henry’s Commentary).
