2Ki 19:30 And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
This is part of Isaiah’s message to Hezekiah king of Judah after the king of Assyria shut up Jerusalem . Part of Judah had already fallen and now Sennacherib threatened to destroy Jerusalem. Although Syria shut up Jerusalem for three years, God would still sustain his people.
The first year, they would eat what grows of it’s self, and in the second year what springs from the same. But in the third year, they would sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. Above all, those remnants who will escape from the house of Judah would gain the roots downwards and bear fruits upwards.
Having gone through a challenging season, it’s good to take note that God has provided and will continue to provide for his people. Above all , he will cause them to flourish. We shall take root downwards and bear fruits upwards.
