Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
All these people – Abraham , Sarah, Isaac & Jacob ( verses 8-12) , did not only live by faith but died in faith. They were true to the principle of faith up to and including their dying moments.
They did not receive the things promised; they did not receive the promised land, they did not see their descendants become a great nation. But they had faith that in the future God would bring it to pass all that he had promised.
