Num 10:35 So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You flee before You.”
This was Moses’s prayer during the commencement of the journey. The prayer was uttered when the ark of the covenant was lifted up in readiness for the takeoff. God must go first if Israel would wish to follow in safety.
If God failed to arise in this way and scatter his enemies, there would be no hope that Israel could get safely through the wilderness. There were many obstacles to the promised land and without God arising and scattering them, getting there would be an exercise in futility.
And so it is even in our days. There are those in the world who are enemies to God. They secretly or openly hate his truths, his ordinances and his people. Some hate you because you are a believer and will do anything possible to block your success. Let the Lord arise and let his enemies be scattered!
Psa 68:1 Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
