Dan 3:25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
Nebuchadnezzar had ordered the fire be heated seven times more than it was usually heated. This was used figuratively to mean that the brick kiln was heated as hot as it possibly could be heated. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were bound by valiant warriors.
They were tied up in their trousers, their coats, their caps and their other clothes and were cast in the midst of the furnace of the blazing fire. They fell into the midst of the fire still tied up. The fall itself should have killed them, much less the temperature!
To his amazement, Nebuchadnezzar looked and got the shock of his life. He saw four men, loosed and walking about the midst of the fire unbound and unharmed. The fire had no effect on their bodies nor was the hair of their head singed, nor were their trousers damaged and did not have even the smell of fire.
It’s true we are going through one of the “hottest” seasons of our lives. It is as if we are in a fiery furnace. Don’t you worry because you are not alone. Emanuel is with us! He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. We will come out unbound and unhurt not having even the smell of fire.
