John 4:34,
[34]Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
While the disciples toiled looking for something to eat and give Jesus, his answer was completely the opposite of their expectations.” I have meat you know nothing about” . Meat is a delicacy loved and longed for in every meal if possible. However it’s sweetness is short lived. What gives us greater pleasure?
Jesus put it well, my meat… What gives him the greatest pleasure is not that great meal you set, but seeking the will of him who sent him – Our Father.
Friends, let’s focus on the greater purpose ; to do God’s will. Our desire should be to do the will of our heavenly father as a hungry man desires to eat. As we celebrate father’s day, let us seek to fulfill our heavenly father’s will.
