Gen 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.
Isaac and his family experienced the second recorded famine in the Bible. In order to avoid the effects of the famine, Isaac sought refuge in the land where his father once lived. Like his father, he wanted to leave the famine ravaged land and go to Egypt but the Lord warned him not to do so.( Gen 26:2).
He had no land of his own but took the land of his hosts and sowed in it. Because the Lord blessed him, Isaac enjoyed amazingly great success as a farmer. He achieved the highest recorded agricultural success recorded in the Bible… a hundred fold. All these happened during the time of famine!
Most believers today are on survival mode. Their prayer has been that God may see them through this season. The good news is that we will not only survive the ravages of the famine and the pandemic, but we will also thrive! God will bless us, prosper us and make us to thrive even during the times of crisis.
