Psa 40:2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. Psa 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth–Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.
David must have been in a terrible situation. He described himself being in a deep pit and a cesspool of miry clay which was sucking him deeper and deeper. This scenario depicts an extremely messy situation.
After making his petition to the Lord, David patiently waited for God to respond. The Lord did not disappoint David; He raised him out of the pit of destruction. He lifted him from the miry clay and set his feet upon a rock. That’s not all, he also established his steps and put a new song in his mouth.
No matter what pit of suffering, destruction and shame we may find ourselves in, His hands of salvation, rescue , blessings and encouragement are able to reach down, raise us up and set our feet upon the rock. He will establish our going out and our coming in ,from this time forth even for evermore. ( Knowing Jesus)
