Jer 16:14 “Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, Jer 16:15 “but, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.
Yahweh’s dramatic and breath taking deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt occupies a significant part in Christian literature. What happened after 430 years of captivity depicts the indisputable mighty hand of God delivering his people from Egypt, leading and providing for them in the wilderness and eventually settling them in the promised land.
The same living God, who fulfilled his promise to Abraham promised to do it again. This time round, it was not going to be from Egypt but from Mesopotamia. Out of the land of captivity, there would a new exodus back to the promised land. Yahweh was going to raise fishermen, who would fish them out of the land of captivity and cause them to land in the promised land. He was going to raise hunters, who were going to track them ,hunt for them and take them back to Israel.( Jer 16:16-18)
Their song was going to change from ” the Lord who brought out the sons of Israel out of Egypt ” to ” the Lord who brought out the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where he had banished them”. Yahweh was going to do it again.
Christian friends, Yahweh will do it again. Once again he will locate you ,deliver you and restore you. Our story and our testimony will positively change. We will not only testify of what our God did in the days of old , but what He has done of late and what He is currently doing.
