Job 2:9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold to your integrity? Curse God and die!”
Job 2:12 And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven.
Job’s tragedy was overwhelming. First he lost all his earthly wealth. Next, a storm wiped away the lives of his children. Lastly, a debilitating disease left his whole body covered with painful boils. It was at this point in time when he took a piece of broken pottery and scrapped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
The first among many who thought that Job was had reached his end was the wife. To her, Job was supposed to be resting in peace(RIP) at the cemetery. When his three friends came to see him, Job’s condition was so bad that they stayed for seven days and seven nights without talking. They saw how great his suffering was.
But in all these, he never gave up. He is in record having given one of the most quoted Scriptures; ” I know my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God (Job 19:25,26) He went ” Past his giving up point ” and lived a long and fulfilling life after all these. Never give up no matter how hard the situation is!
