Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Rom 8:30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
The concept of predestination is not only based on God’s sovereignty and foreknowledge, but also in his unchanging character of love ,mercy and undeserved grace. God is in total control of all things including human history.
As human beings, we feel extremely limited on matters to do with our performance. We feel we are inadequate ,poor performers, and falling short of what God expects of us. Sometimes we wish we were more strong, more zealous, more holy and more of this and that. But the truth of the matter is that you are still work in progress. God loves you the way you are.
It’s true we have our own flaws and weaknesses. Despite all these, God has called us and has predestined us to accomplish specific purposes. He does according to his will and he rules the affairs of men. No one can restrain his hand or say to him, what have you done? ( Dan 4:35b) It is through divine enablement that we have success in all that we do!
