Psa 33:16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. Psa 33:17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
The greatest challenge of our times is the demonstration of ” military muscles ” by different nations as they try to out shine” one another. Many nations are rushing to amass a lot of military weapons as others come up with more sophisticated and high tech machines of war. Unfortunately, even the poorest of the poor countries have been caught up in this web.
In the psalmist day, a king would trust the size of his army. A horse was considered an added advantage against an enemy. But the Bible records many mighty armies that miserably lost to very small armies and to individuals. This confirms that no warrior escapes by his great strength and a horse , despite it’s strength, is a vain hope for deliverance.
Christian friends, victory comes from the Lord! The horse is made ready for the day of the battle, but victory rests with the Lord (Pro 21:31 ). Our victory does not come from the East or west, it does not come from our great connections, great economies, our hard work but from our God. Its not by might or by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord ( Zec 4:6)
