Joh 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
Jesus departure was eminent. He had been we them for three years and now they were wondering what would happen without him. He had brought them together from various backgrounds, moved with them from one location to another, dined with them, ministered with them, fed them and performed many miracles in their midst. And for these reasons their hearts were certainly troubled!
But in spite of all these, Jesus still said to them: ” Do not let your hearts be troubled “. His meaning was: Stop being troubled; stop being anxious . And what was the way to remove trouble and anxiety from their hearts? By believing in God and believing in Christ.( The applied New Testament Commentary, Thomas Hale)
Today’s life has many interjections of anxious moments. Sometimes they are so intense to the extent of almost throwing us of balance if not properly attended to. The only reliable cure for anxiety is our trust in God; that God orders all the affairs of men. We must learn to take all our worries to him in prayers. Isa 3:10 “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
