2Co 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
How can you expose an earth ware to punitive environmental hazards and still expect it to remain?.
How can a pot be hard pressed and squeezed on every side and fail to crush, fragment or break?
How would it be struck down , smashed and still fail to be destroyed and damaged beyond repair?.
This would only happen if the building ingredients of the pot are strengthened and lignified with hard components.
Paul describes the believers as earthen vessels who are exposed to agents of crushing ,breaking and desperation .But he assures them that they do possess an all surpassing power of the Holy spirit who makes them resistant to perplexity ,despair, destruction and hopelessness.
On daily basis we are surrounded with life’s crushing situations, limping economy, ever rising costs , squeezed and crushing programs to mention a few. How can we withstand these pressures without breaking? We must possess the readily available all surpassing power from God . Its God who enables to withstand every pressure and renews our strength . He comforts and provides amidst hunger and deficiency. He helps us withstand crushing and brokenness.
