Act 24:16 “This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
Our conscience is that part of us that indicate to our mind and heart whether we are doing what is right or wrong. It is a deep awareness of right and wrong, as well as the desire to do what is right.
Paul was making his defense before Felix , the governor of Judea. He had been accused of ” stirring up riots all over the world and that he had desecrated the temple ” ( Acts 24:11-13). Paul challenged his accusers to prove of any charge against him. *For Paul, he always acted right and his conscience was without offense before God and man.*
For every Christian, a clean conscience is a “must have” . Our conscience becomes unclean when we have unsettled accounts with God and with people. It means we must do our best to make right everything we are aware of. A clean conscience enables us to live without guilt or regret about the past or fear and worry about the future. May we know and experience the power of a clear conscience each day. (Mark Conner’s space – The power of a clear conscience))*
