Act 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting .Act 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
To ignite the fire means to catch the fire. It can also mean to set something burning. When dealing with fire, there is always a level of preparedness. Fire should not be handled carelessly because of the impact it can cause in people’s lives.
One of the personalities of the Holy Spirit is fire. On the day Pentecost, the disciples were together in the upper room. Then suddenly there came a sound like that of a rushing mighty wind which filled the whole house. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire which sat upon each of them. And from these time , things were never the same again. They were ignited not only for witness but God did mighty things through them.
Getting ignited for the next level is for all believers. Catching the fire for God makes one do things that ordinary people cannot do. The fire enables one to serve God with passion, worship God with all your heart, pray fervently, meditate on the word of God and become his witness in your sphere of influence. It’s time to rekindle our spiritual flames!
