2 Kings 13:20-21 Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. 21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
Elisha, One of the greatest prophet in Israel died. We find that even in death, his bones ministered to another dead man. This happened when Israelites were burying a dead man and saw raiders coming. When they threw the corpse in Elisha’s tomb, the man came to life. Elisha’s anointing was with him even in the grave. In other words, he was still ministering long after he was buried. This is the undying influence of a Godly man.
The most humble Christian who is faithful to God may have confidence that his/her influence will continue long after he/she has passed on. His/Her work will speak for him because he/she will leave behind a notable legacy.
Elisha was dead, but his good influence remained. We should live such a life that our influence while on earth will impact many generations long after we are gone.
