Joh 16:16
Jesus went on to say, βIn a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.β
As Jesus was explaining the net effects of His departure, the disciples were grieving and wondering what would happen to them. This was after they abandoned all to follow Him. To melt their fear, He explained to them that His departure, loneliness and pain was short-lived, it would turn to pure joy.
While most parents-to be can’t wait to meet the newborn baby, they dread going through labor and delivery. A woman due to deliver undergoes birth pangs because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish and is surpassed by the joy of bringing forth.
It might be your time of grief, loss, pain, lack, break-up, depression and desperation. But as He promised, soon you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
If not careful, you may try to define a “little while” according to your timetable. Then it would be problematic, because you might think that God is not keeping His promises or answering your prayers.
A little while it’s dark, then it dawns, It’s dry, then showers, It’s lonely, then a companion . _
Give your situation “a little while ultimatum”._
