Heb 11:24-27 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
Your future lies a head. It is what you will experience in life and in eternity. What you do today has a direct or indirect bearing on your future. Your altar is your desire or need for immediate gratification of a short – term goal. Our lustful desires, demand for pleasure, lack of self control and poor decisions if unchecked can derail our tomorrow.
Moses gave up all the authority and wealth of Egypt in order to suffer with his fellow Jews. He considered disgrace for the sake of Christ of greater value than all the wealth of Egypt. By faith Moses left Egypt and lived at Midian for forty years when God appeared to him and gave him a divine assignment of delivering the Israelites from slavery. If Moses had enjoyed the pleasures of Egypt, he would have missed out many blessings.
Decisions made today determine your tomorrow. You must learn to always ask how your current choices will affect your tomorrow . Do not ever be deceived to put the emphasis on the present over the future. People who made rush decisions that affected their future lives include and not limited to Esau, Samson, Achan, Saul etc Let us not sacrifice long life blessings for short term gains.
