Jer 16:14 “Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’
Jer 16:15 “but, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.
One of the most heroic and celebrated deliverance recorded in the Bible was the Exodus. Yahweh performed great miracles and eventually delivered them from the Egyptian captivity and brought them to a land flowing with milk and honey. He carried them on eagles wings and made them a kingdom of priests and a holy nation ( Exo 19:4-6).
But now God was once again going to bring an event that would overshadow Exodus as the pivotal event of Israel’s history. Men will no longer be obsessed with what God did during that particular time in history. Instead, they will change that narrative to be in tandem with what God will do in a short while. God will bring the Israelites back from the Babylonian captivity and restore them back to the land he gave to their forefathers!
In a short while, our narrative is going to change. We will no longer linger in what God did several decades or years ago. Our narrative will focus not of the things of long ago but on what the Lord has done of late and what He is currently doing. A season of restoration and fulfilment of his promises is coming. He will do things that will overshadow those that he did long time ago!
