Neh 6:15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month of Elul, in fifty-two days. Neh 6:16 And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.
Building a wall of a city was and still is not an easy task. Such magnanimous project needed the input, talents and gifts of many people for success to be achieved. Completing the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem in fifty two days was a collaborative effort of many people.
Despite their different socio – economic background, the Israelites worked together and joined hands with the high priest in construction work. They overcame gender biasness because even women participated. Many traveled long distances in order to participate. They gave their resources, time and energy to do this work. Teamwork allows for the division of labor enabling concurrent work on multiple aspects of an assignment. It unblocks potential for innovation, enhances personal growth and at the same time lowers the risk of burnout. Teamwork brings people together and motivates them to rely on one another in order to complete the tasks given. Teamwork is the recipe for success.
