Exodus 2:2
[2]And the woman became pregnant and bore a son; and when she saw that he was [exceedingly] beautiful, she hid him three months.
Many women in the Bible are an embodiment of a mother’s sacrifice. As we celebrate Mother’s Day we focus on Jochebed who bore Moses in a perilous moment. The king of Egypt had made a decree that sons born by the Hebrews would not be allowed to live. Moses’ mother had divine wisdom that preserved her son. She didn’t not permit the prevailing circumstance dictate but took charge and triumphed against all odds. In our current status we can draw valuable tips from this wise mother.
The mother had insight. She saw that he was a beautiful child! What do you see in your child? Moses’ mother saw beyond the current status and beheld the destiny of the child thus devised a way to preserve destiny. Eyes of a mother are foresighted; seeing beyond the face value. They launch deep to harness the hidden potential and broods over it until greatness is hatched.
She created an ark that was water proof which would float on the river. The child needed to be safe from the ravaging waters and the ark kept him afloat. Don’t allow the child to sink and wallow in the lurking dangers. Cushion the child from torrents that would wash away the dreams of the baby hindering development.
She positioned his sister to watch over him. The family was intact in the mission of guarding their own. Let the family stand in unity to safeguard one another less the enemy comes and strike. Mothers are the thread that weave cohesion in the family.
She had created a cordial relationship. The mother daughter relationship was amiable. The daughter presented her mother’s CV to Pharaoh’s daughter and she got hired to raise her own. The mother had raised the daughter well who in turn talked good about her that won her the job. There are benefits for good work done as you raise responsible children.
She was a nurse: one who cherished and encouraged growth. The mother was paid for nursing the baby. Mothers raise with a big heart that exude care and love. The baby though in hands of affluence needed real affection that could only be gotten from an authentic mother.
For sure mothers have a massive responsibility as they are greatly involved to mold their children in every stage of their growth. We applaud the mothers for their noble task.
