Psa 138:2 I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your word above all your name.
God’s word is supreme and so he has bound himself to his word. When we pray according to the word, this gives us boldness in prayer which comes from having knowledge of something called “binding precedent”. A precedent is a “preceding case” that serves as an example in subsequent cases. A biding precedent is a legal decision made in the past that becomes an authoritative rule for similar cases in the future . For judges, this means having to stand by a decision that has already been made .(D.Wikerson-2019)
When a lawyer is pleading the case for a client, he/she makes her prayers to the judge. The judges’ decision is based on the existing precedents. God is bound by his word to perform it. All we need to know is the set precedence which is in his word.
What is it that you need? Health, restoration of family members, provision of daily needs. The Judge is waiting to execute this in your favour . It is his will to heal us, to restore us, to build us up and to give us the best gifts . We only need to know what the scripture says about the issue and go ahead and petition him in prayer. With this “binding precedent” concept , we receive the answer by faith and wait for its manifestation.
