Job 19:25-27 For I know that my Redeemer lives,And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Good cheer is a state of mind or mood that propels you to soldier on regardless of the prevailing circumstances. With God’s help, good cheer gives us room to rise above the depressing or difficult circumstances.
The above scripture must must have been one of the key to Job’s survival during his horrific trial. With every material possession gone and no other cheer leader, Job decided to cheer himself on! Although he had lost much that pertained to this physical life, his relationship with his God was intact. He was sure that he was going to overcome his predicaments and with his own eyes, he would personally see God. He was sure that God would come through for him
Being of good cheer makes it possible for us to turn all our sunsets to sunrises. With good cheer , carrying our cross can be our ladder to happiness. When Jesus comes into our lives, cheer lights the way. How powerful and comforting is the Savior’s declaration , ” in the world you shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. John 16:33 (Elder Marvin J. Aston of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles)
